In my mind, hypochondriasis is a form of ocd.Thoffen member 15+ year member joined aug 14, 2006 messages 1,326I've seen it in their eyes.The underlying cause of both hypochondria and ocd is anxiety.I also found people arguing that it is a type of ocd.

Yes, i'd say hypochondria is a more specific form of ocd, and a lot of people experience it.Please comment on my appraisal of this.Hypochondria is a form of ocd.It seems like they are one and the same and that hypochondriasis is a specific manifestation of ocd rather than a separate disorder (ie.Hypochondriasis may occur in an individual who had a childhood illness or had a sibling with a childhood illness.
